Think about goals you have wanted to accomplish, but you have them on the back-burner for a more convenient period of your life. It could be that you have wanted to run a half marathon, loose a few pounds, study a new language, learn an instrument, or go on a road trip....etc.
A goal itself is defined as "the object of a person's ambition or effort; an aim or desired result."
I personally don't like the definition of a goal because it always refers to the future: a future accomplishment, a future ambition, a future task...etc. Note that these goals will ALWAYS stay in the future unless you act on them. And guess what? A more convenient time will NEVER arrive.
What about this very moment? What is holding you back RIGHT NOW?
As many of you know, I am training for a half marathon in February. This has been my goal for months, and even though I have been training regularly, there are days when I want to keep my training a goal and not an action. Today, for example, I was dreading my long run because it would be the coldest day I ran. However it ended up being my longest, and most enjoyable run yet! I was so happy that I chose to challenge myself than to wait for a better time or better weather to arrive. Heck, as far as weather is concerned, I would be waiting for quite a few more months until my perfect weather moment would arrive!
A challenge is defined as " a task or situation that tests someone's abilities."
What challenges do you need to accept to place your goals into action? Now is the time! Like Barney Stinson, we need to accept more challenges to have less goals, and more accomplishments.
An accomplishment = "the successful achievement of a task".
Imagine how great you would feel to place all of your current goals under this definition of accomplishment. Push yourself, challenge yourself, and you can do it!
