Now, before you close this window, give tofu a chance! Without the right seasonings, I'll admit tofu can taste pretty bland. However, with this recipe, the zesty tomato sauce gives it an excellent flavor boost! Also, its texture alone when crumbled almost exactly resembles the texture of ricotta cheese. The difference, however, is that ricotta cheese has about 20 grams of saturated fat and 207 mg of sodium per cup serving; whereas, the tofu only has 1.3 grams of saturated fat and 65 mg of sodium per cup serving! Excellent for heart health! Convinced yet? I guess you will just have to see for yourself! ;)
Ingredients: (Makes 12 Servings)
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. And cook the ground turkey on medium-high heat on the stove top until it is fully cooked/white. Temperature should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 15 seconds to be sure that it is done (Note this is a higher cooking temperature than ground beef).
8. Take out, let lasagna cool, and enjoy! :)
